Regardless of the signal improvement and configuration convenience, the most interesting is the application that allows you to control and distribute the signal to your liking.
On other occasions, we have already said: the ‘router’ in many homes is inviolable. It is received when one subscribes the shift contract with the operator, it is configured and left in the corner of the shift. There it remains until the end of time, something that is usually caused by a change of address or portability resulting from a cabreo or an offer of those that open your eyes. But increasingly there are more users who question the ‘gadget’ and end up sending it to walk or adding an amplifier to improve the Wi-Fi at home.
I did it a while ago. I had delayed the story with ‘prefabricated’ arguments like my apartment was too small. I tried a couple of models. However, on a trip to London, one that was not sold in Spain fell into my hands. It was a Google Wifi . I decided to give it a try. And the truth was that it was a very wise decision. Not only for what my connection at home has improved but for other added values of the ‘app’ that governs this device and that has given me some possibilities that I never imagined.
Google WiFi is Released Now !!
Why choose then? A single Google Wifi can handle a floor of 85 square meters, according to its creators. The ‘pack’ of three would give to create an infrastructure capable of covering a surface of 255 square meters. From there, if you need to expand, the story would be acquiring more points and expanding based on your needs to a maximum of six.

For the lesser positions in the matter, changing these devices can give a bit of vertigo . Or a lot But is not the case. Here you do not have to walk with a web interface. It simply does not exist. The only thing you need is a Gmail account and an Android or iOS phone to download the shift ‘app’.
If you want it as the main point of your broadband connection, what you should do is disconnect the one you already have plugged into the modem and replace it. If you have a device that has both pieces, you should get an individual modem to use it . You can also connect it to the ‘router’ that you already have as if it were just another appendix. But here you have to keep in mind that the existing network will coexist with Google Wifiand that can mean that the devices connected to each of them can not communicate with each other. It was a mistake, but it happened to me at the beginning. I found that my mobile phone did not find the ‘multi room’ audio system, configured much earlier. If this happens to you, the change is very simple: you only have to change the network as you do when you want to connect to a new one.
When you plug in the power (it has USB Type C port) the device and you connect it to the modem, the ‘smartphone’ detects it and guides you in a very simple process to name the network and put a password. If you want to add more Google Wifi points, it’s all very easy: power socket and scan the QR code, assigning it a room name. Seconds later, you have it ready.
Here, and in the ease of installation, is where you can see the greatest differential value of Google Wifi. It is true that there will be other models in the market that will offer greater performance and specifications that attract more specialized audiences. However, I have not known ‘router’ that gives me so many possibilities with less work, ever. The ‘app’ of control is its great added value.
It allows you to easily see at a glance how many devices you have connected to the network at each moment and the bandwidth usage that each one is doing. Another of the most interesting things is that you can do a speed test in each of the devices. I, truthfully, is something that I had never worried about.
Google Wifi allows you to choose a priority device to give greater width of side
Personally, there is a function that has caught my attention. ‘Priority device’ . It is not the same to do ‘streaming’ of a 4K movie, play ‘online’ to check Twitter. That is why you can establish that one of the machines connected to the network has access to a greater bandwidth during a certain time. If you have several Google Wi-Fi devices, the network (thanks to the Network Assist functionality) will automatically analyze the load of ‘work’ of each of them and discriminate based on it. The goal, that the internet always feels as fluent as possible.
Since the application also allows you to open a wifi for guests without having to go looking for the key and wasting time with these stories. It allows you to configure duration, number of guests, etc … Finally, it also allows you to ‘knock down’ the internet at your home selectively. Create groups of devices (for example, those used by your children) and cut off the connection when it’s time to study.
