One of the most useful things you can do with your smartphone is to share your internet signal, which comes through your data rate, with other devices. That or set up a WiFi network to connect various devices and share files. Very similar to turning your terminal into a router. This is a function that is in all the smartphones of the world, but there are users who still do not know it. We explain how to take advantage of it through these simple steps.
To share the internet, we mainly have two options: through a Wi-Fi network or through Bluetooth. The internet source will be your data rate with 3G or 4G (depending on the coverage). You have to keep in mind that if you share with a computer, web optimized for desktop devices weigh more than mobile ones so you will spend more data.
Configure a WiFi zone
To be able to share the internet or set up a wireless network, we must configure the WiFi zone that our smartphone will create. Go to Settings> More> Anchor and Wi-Fi hotspot> Portable Wi-Fi hotspot> Configure Wi-Fi hotspot .
Once the configuration option is selected, we will be able to modify the name of the WiFi network that we are going to generate and, what is more important, the password. You can also choose the band type and the broadcast channel, but unless you know what you are doing it is better to leave the default values.
Connect by WiFi
Once configured, we can share our mobile data. Activate the option in Settings> More> Anchor and Wi-Fi hotspot> Portable Wi-Fi hotspot . There we will find the name of our Wi-Fi zone, we just have to activate it.
When a device wants to connect to your network, you should search Wi-Fi normally, until you find the name you have chosen for the network, as well as enter the password you set yourself. This does not only work for smartphones, but you can use it with any other device, be it a PC, a TV or any item with Wi-Fi receiver.
To share the internet via Bluetooth, the first thing we have to do is pair the two devices. Activate it from Settings> Bluettoth> Activate Bluetooth> Search. In this way, the two smartphones will already be connected.
If you share the data, you must press Settings> More> Tethering and Wi-Fi hotspot> Tethering via Bluetooth, and it will be active. Now it is necessary that the device that wants to receive internet make the connection effective. In Settings> Bluetooth you must press the icon on the right of the device (usually a gear) with which it is paired and activate the option Internet access.
When you finish sharing the internet, turn off the previously marked function to save battery. Remember that the volume of data can go up a lot when sharing with several devices, so be careful not to exceed your GB maximum, since then a surprise can come in the form of an exorbitant bill.
Do you usually use this option on your Android smartphone?
